HyMeX Workshop on Drought and Water Resources
Zaragoza, Spain, 5-7 April 2016
General information
The aim of this workshop is to enhance the scientific work of the HyMeX Water Resources and Drought Science Team (WR & D ST). The meeting will be held
at the central office of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Zaragoza (Pza. Emilio Alfaro 23, Zaragoza).
Zaragoza is well communicated by plane and fast rail (from Madrid, Barcelona, Montpellier, Marseille, Paris, etc.).
Please note that there will be a limit of 40 participants.
Objectives
The main objectives of this workshop are to present the state-of-the-art in drought and water resources research, coordinate and strengthen the HyMeX community
in this area and discuss the future lines of work. The workshop will be structured by main topics of priority identified by HyMeX:
- Description of Mediterranean drought: datasets, models and societal impacts of past droughts
- Understanding of drought processes: drought propagation within the system, feedbacks, interactions with climate change and water resources, aerosols, vegetation, etc.
- Predicting drought: data assimilation, seasonal forecasting, model improvement, impacts of climate change, and links with policy.
Proposals for presentations or posters on these 3 topics are welcome and should be submitted before the deadline indicated below. The abstract will be selected by the Scientific Committee. The attendance to this workshop will be limited to 40 participants.

Pricing
There is no registration fee for this workshop funded by MISTRALS and HyMeX.
Accommodation
