Postdoctoral position in physical oceanography / numerical modelling at IFREMER, Brest, France
Posted: 18.12.2017 Application deadline: until position is filledThe postdoctoral position is focused on the convection event of Winter 2012/2013 documented in HyMeX SOP2. The aim is to investigate the role of (sub)meso-scales structures by taking advantage of two way refinement technics implemented in a numerical model to reach very high resolution (400m)... More
, 2018: Impact of SST on heavy rainfall events on eastern Adriatic during SOP1 of HyMeX. Atmospheric Research, 200, 36-59.
HyMeX in briefHyMeX aims at a better understanding, quantification and modelling of the hydrological cycle in the Mediterranean, with emphasis on the predictability and evolution of extreme weather events, inter-annual to decadal variability of the Mediterranean coupled system, and associated trends in the context of global change. The multidisciplinary research and associated database developed within HyMeX aim to improve the observational and modelling systems, better predict extreme events, simulate the long-term water-cycle, and provide guidelines for adaptation measures.
